To date, the Capcom character Mega Man (a.k.a "Rockman") has eleven different video games that bear his name. This full size, wearable paper model is of Mega Man's helmet as it appears in Mega Man X. The model was created by Zorn Taov and his template may be downloaded here. Zorn created the model from scratch and did not make use of a 3D model from the video game. Stitch's Ray Gun Papercraft
The Disney character Stitch (from the 2002 animated movie Lilo & Stitch) appears in the Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep video game for PSP. Also called "Experiment 626", Stitch sometimes makes use of a ray gun. This paper model of Stitch's ray gun is based on a 3D model from KHBBS. The gun is full scale and measures about 7"(17.8 cm) in length. The two page, eight piece template for this papercraft may be downloaded here. Supreme Commander 2 Papercraft Robots
The real-time strategy video game Supreme Commander 2 was released by Square Enix in 2010. Part of the marketing for the game was the release of paper models of several of the armored command unit robots seen in the game. In addition to the three robots shown above, there is also a less 3D paper model of a "cybranosaurus" for papercraft beginners. The templates for all four models may be downloaded here.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Papercraft: Pit
I don't have much information on this papercraft of the character Pit from Nintendo's Kid Icarus series of video games. What I do know is that the template for the paper model was created by former DeviantART member Sora243 in 2008. The model may have been based on a 3D model from the Super Smash Bros. Brawl video game, although I can't say for sure. Pit is an angel from the mythical world of "Angel Land". Papercraft templates in PDF and PDO format may be downloaded here.

LOTR Papercraft: Ringwraiths (Nazgul)
Not finding enough Lord of the Rings papercraft on the Internet to suit him, Andre Correa decided to create some of his own. The result was this Ringwraith papercraft. In the LOTR trilogy, the Ringwraiths (or Nazgul) are powerful servants of the evil ruler Sauron. This paper model is based on a 3D model from the Return of the King video game and may be downloaded here.

Grand Theft Auto Papercraft
Igrandtheftauto.com has the self-confessed goal of becoming the ultimate resource for all things to do with the Grand Theft Auto series of video games. They just might be the ultimate resource for GTA papercraft as well! Pictured above are four of eighteen different paper models based on the Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars video game. Clockwise from the upper left corner are models of the Infernus, the Sabre GT, the Stallion, and my personal favorite, the Sum Yung Gai Noodle Van. The selection of GTA papercraft available includes not only cars but display stands for the cars, a dragon costume, character models, and weapon models. Check them all out here.

Pop Culture Paper Toy Tubes
Designer and animator Eduardo Souzacampus has created a delightful series of simple paper toys which he calls "Tubeland". Each of the toys is assembled by rolling a single piece of paper into a tube, then gluing it in place. Pictured above are the paper toys representing Darth Vader, Carmen Miranda, and Nintendo's Mario. A wide range of pop culture characters are available including historical figures (Da Vinci, Mozart, etc), cartoon characters (Betty Boop, Flintstones, etc), and soccer players (Pele, Ronaldo Fenomeno). One of my personal favs is the Heath Ledger Joker paper toy. All 24 of the Tubeland paper toys may be downloaded here.

Maniac Mansion Papercraft: Purple Tentacle
The 1993 PC game, Day of the Tentacle, is a sequel to the 1987 graphic adventure game, Maniac Mansion. The villain of Day of the Tentacle is a purple, sentient tentacle appropriately known as "The Purple Tentacle." The Hellforge gaming website began offering this Purple Tentacle papercraft back in 2009. The download for the Tentacle works well enough, but on my computer at least an error message pops up when attempting to open the RAR file. But by ignoring the error message and proceeding anyway, I was able to extract one of the two templates. The build photo above is by Destro2k.UPDATE: As of 5/1/2011 the Hellforge website is down. Team Fortress Top Hat Papercraft
The Team Fortress series of video games contain over 100 different hats that may be placed on the playable characters. This particular hat is called the "Scotsman's Stove Pipe." DeviantART member Fractaljinn has created an enormous papercraft version of the Stove Pipe (think the size of Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter hat in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland). Kingdom Hearts Papercraft: Dream Sword
Another Kingdom Hearts II papercraft is complete! The Dream Sword is one of three weapons (along with the Dream Rod and the Dream Shield) that may be used in the "Dive to the Heart" area of KH2. This paper model Dream Sword is 1:1 scale and measures 36" (92cm) long. The finished model is more than sturdy enough for display purposes, but if you want to use it for something more active like cosplay then it will need to be reinforced inside with a material stronger than cardstock. Halo 3 Frag Grenade Papercraft
Here is my first foray into Halo papercraft: a Halo 3 frag grenade. According to the Halo 3 Official Guide from Microsoft:"Frag grenades are ideal to kill or disrupt large groups of low-ranking infantry (Grunts and Jackals especially), to blast an advancing horde of Combat Forms and Infection Forms, or to distract enemies as you beat a hasty retreat to cover..."
This papercraft is based on an actual 3D model from the Halo 3 video game, but I modified a couple of things to make it more reasonable as a paper model. First, I scaled the model way down to make it fit the size of an average person. The height of the finished model is 6" (15 cm) while the original 3D model size was around 8" (20 cm). Second, I lightened up the textures on the grenade because I found the original textures printed too dark and became indistinct. I may do more Halo papercraft in the future, but I have several other works in progress I want to get done first. The template for the frag grenade may be downloaded here.

Star Wars Papercraft: Tuantuan
One of my favorite animals in the Star Wars universe is the tauntaun. Tauntauns first appeared in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back. In the film, rebel soldiers take to riding the beasts on the ice planet of Hoth when the weather proves too cold for their vehicles. This tauntaun paper model was created by Sukhoi Noturna who based his papercraft on a 3D model from the Star Wars: Battlefront II video game. The zip file download for the tauntaun includes both PDF and PDO templates as well a separate template for a rebel soldier model that fits on the tautaun's back.

KH2 Papercraft: 100 Acre Wood Treasure Chest
Here is Chest #2 in my ongoing series of Kingdom Hearts 2 treasure chest paper models. My goal is to release one treasure chest a month with a final total of fourteen chests. This treasure chest appears in the 100 Acre Wood area of the video game. The 100 Acre Wood is, of course, where Winnie the Pooh and his companions live. The graphic style of Pooh and friends in the video game corresponds to Disney's version of the characters rather than the original book illustrations by E. H. Shepard. KH1 Cave of Wonders Ape Statue Papercraft
In the Agrabah (Disney Aladdin) area of the Kingdom Hearts 1 video game, the player must enter the "Cave of Wonders". Among other things inside the Cave of Wonders are statues of apes holding enormous gems. This paper model is of one of those statues. The build photo above is by TouchFuzzyGetDizzy, the designer of the papercraft. He has made his Pepakura PDO template for the statue available on DeviantART.

Street Fighter Papercraft: Ken
The Street Fighter series of video games by Capcom have been popular ever since the first game was introduced in 1987. Best friends Ken and Ryu are two characters that have appeared in all the Street Fighter games. Some little known trivia about Ken's character is that despite his "all-American" look he is actually 3/4 Japanese and dyes his hair blond. This paper toy version of Ken is available at the Funny Character Cafe papercraft website. What I am curious about is whether Ken will balance on one foot like in the photo without being glued down. ^^

Front Mission Evolved Papercraft: Zephyr Wanzer
Late last year Square Enix celebrated the release of its Front Mission Evolved video game. This Zephyr mech paper model was released as part of the celebration. Standing at a height of 12.5" (31.8 cm), the model can be posed with 40 different joints. Various accessories come with the Zephyr template including a machine gun, shot gun, a grenade and a shield. The photo above is from the designers of the papercraft, 3Dpaper. A download of the template is available at the Square Enix website here. Look for the link labeled "fully colored model" near the bottom of the page. Sorry, the contest to color your own Zephyr mech mentioned on the page is over, but a blank template is still available if you want to give it a try.

Halo Papercraft: Banshee Aerial Assault Vehicle
The Banshee (also known as a Type-26 Ground Support Aircraft) is an aerial assault craft appearing in the Halo series of video games. The Banshee is part of the arsenal of the Covenant Empire which has been described as "a religious hegemony of multiple alien species". This papercraft Banshee is the work of Brandon (aka z8-0) at DeviantART and may be downloaded from his profile here. Brandon also has several other papercraft Halo vehicles available for download including a Sentinel, a Ghost, and a Wraith.

Marvel Comics Papercraft: Thor
With a new Thor movie coming out later this year, it was only a matter of time before someone created a papercraft of Marvel Comics' god of thunder. This large paper model is based on a 3D model from the Marvel Ultimate Alliance video game and stands at a little over 21 inches (54 cm) tall. The designer and builder of the model is Mariano DG from imprime-recorta-pega.com. Over the past year Mariano has produced several other excellent papercraft models of Marvel Comics characters. Official Ico Papercraft
The 2001 Playstation 2 video game Ico is considered by many to be not only a work of art, but also one of the best video games of all time. Later this year Ico and it's prequal Shadow of the Colossus are scheduled to be released for Playstation 3. The official Ico website offers five paper models from the game including models of the two main characters, Ico and Yorda.
